  1. What is coaching?

    Coaching is the process of finding solutions and reaching goals.  A coach inspires people to take action and they provide a strategy which facilitates success.  They offer skilled guidance in order to turn dissatisfaction into information and direction.

    Coaching differs from therapy in that the focus is more on the present and future than it is on the past.  There is also a more equal balance of power between the coach and client than there is between the typical therapist and client.

    One of the biggest misconceptions is that coaching is about giving advice.  Coaching asserts that all of the answers we seek are inside of ourselves.  A good coach will not tell you what to do.  The reason to work with a coach is to empower yourself to listen to your own inner voice.  Seeking outside help can be beneficial to your development or it can be an escape. Pushing the responsibility away from yourself, from your own truth and going with someone else's view is only a short-term solution.

  2. What techniques will my coach use?

    Our coaching programs utilise simple and effective techniques which actively transform the areas which have been inhibiting you from achieving the results you desire.  Areas of particular speciality include:

    *  Adjust attitudes towards health issues and assist in the cessation of addictions such as smoking and food etc.

    *  Release negative emotions, change limiting decisions and beliefs, increase positivity and determine deep unconscious sources of unhappiness.

    *  Discover what motivates you.

    *  Facilitate personal values assessments and personality tests.

    *  Identify, remove and change values conflicts.

    *  Elicit motivational strategies and utilise embedded commands.

    *  Discover unconscious patterns and internal blocks.

    *  Utilise specific techniques for pain management and treatment of phobias.

    *  Use hypnotherapy to embed positive and motivational suggestions.

    *  Set SMART goals in the future Time Line and create your future.

  1. What is hypnosis?

    Hypnosis is a deep state of relaxation during which suggestions are made to create beneficial changes in ideas or behaviour.

    The subconscious mind controls the involuntary functions of the body, including habits and things that we do ‘automatically’ - it is fuelled by our emotions and imagination and directs the energy from within.  The subconscious mind also contains memories of every single thing that has occurred to us.

    In hypnosis, the mind is very receptive to new ideas and open to suggestions which encourage more sensible, balanced or helpful attitudes to reality.  In the clinical setting, symptoms associated with stress or anxiety can be improved - in such cases it is not a substitute for medical treatment, but a very useful supplement to it.  Mind and body affect each other and the person as a whole benefits from this holistic approach.

    For some conditions, regression techniques can be utilised.  This may mean re-examining (without necessarily re-experiencing) events which influenced us at an earlier time in life.  By bringing these memories to the surface, the subconscious mind is able to discharge the negative effects and can be ‘reprogrammed’ for success.

    The number of sessions required usually varies from person to person, however most people feel some benefit from hypnotherapy immediately.

  2. What can hypnotherapy do for me?

    Hypnotherapy is a quick and effective solution for a wide range of physical and emotional issues.  A survey of psychotherapy literature by psychologist Alfred A. Barrios, Ph.D. revealed the following therapeutic recovery rates:

    * Psychoanalysis:  38% recovery after 600 sessions

    * Behaviour Therapy:  72% recovery after 22 sessions

    * Hypnotherapy:  93% recovery after 6 sessions

  3. Can anyone be hypnotised?

    Most people can, providing they are able to understand the things they have to do in order to achieve this state.

  4. When I am in hypnosis am I unconscious?

    No, you are in a state half-way between sleep and wake.

  5. Can I be made to say or do anything against my will whilst I am in hypnosis?

    No. Clinical hypnosis is not stage hypnosis, you are free to accept or reject any suggestions made.

  6. Will I be aware of what is happening or being said whilst I am in the hypnosis state?

    Yes.  You will feel deeply relaxed but will never lose contact with the Hypnotherapist’s voice.

  7. What happens if I don't come out of trance?

    You would simply come out of the trance naturally as the rapport would be lost with the Hypnotherapist.  No-one has ever remained in trance indefinitely.

  8. Will I be able to drive afterwards?

    Yes. You will still be feeling relaxed, however your actions and reactions will be functioning super efficiently.

  9. Will I experience any side effects?

    Hypnosis is a perfectly natural state.  The only changes you will experience are the beneficial ones of feeling more relaxed and positive about the issue you sought hypnotherapy for.

Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP)

  1. What is NLP?

    Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is an incredibly powerful human performance technology that enables people to unblock the structures of human communication and human excellence.  By doing so, people can think, communicate and manage themselves and others more effectively.

    NLP explores the relationships between how we think (neuro), how we communicate (linguistic) and our patterns of behaviour and emotion (programming).

    By studying and learning from these relationships, people can effectively transform the way they traditionally think and act, adopting new, far more successful models of human excellence. This activity is called modelling and is a key feature that distinguishes NLP from psychology.  Once you are able to identify the process of how an individual does something well, you can learn and utilise that same strategy to enhance your own performance.

    In effect, NLP is a powerful change management tool that transforms the way people think and act to have the greatest impact both professionally and personally.  That is why NLP is one of the most powerful skills used in weight management, psychology, sports coaching and all forms of personal development.

  2. How can NLP help me?

Time Line Therapy

  1. What is Time Line Therapy?

    Time Line Therapy® is an expansion of Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Ericksonian Hypnosis and was developed by Dr Tad James in 1985.  Dr James published his first TimeLine Therapy® book, 'Time Line Therapy and the Basis of Personality', in 1988.

    The Time Line is a system for organising the memories of the mind.  Memories are recorded and stored as we age and with time, they have more and more influence.   The Time Line helps us differentiate between the past, present and future.  Time LineTherapy® is a process that is largely unconscious in the same way you might remember your home phone number.  The information is always there, but you may not always be conscious of it.

  2. How can Time Line Therapy help me?

    Time Line Therapy® is an innovative technique that is used to quickly and efficiently release negative emotions, limiting decisions and limiting beliefs.  These techniques can also be utilised to:

    *  Move through your internal blocks.

    *  Make the right decisions with re-assurance.

    *  Get to know what you really want.

    *  Learn how to visualise a more compelling and motivating future.

    *  Understand your internal time machine and create your future.

    *  Get to know what you really want.
